Memories of the dead
are like water from a depleting river.
hold on to them tightly
but not too tight
if possible, store them in a jar
before they dry up on your palms
before they seep through your fingers
on to the sand
because by the time you bend to scoop the water back from it’s source
the river might be gone, forever.
